This section provides a step-by-step guide to help you prepare your woodland creation proposal.

You should follow this guidance if you want to:

apply for grant support to create a new woodland
comply with the Forestry (Environmental Impact Assessment) (Scotland) Regulations 2017 for afforestation
get approval from Scottish Forestry for a woodland compensatory planting scheme. This is required by a condition of a planning permission. Y

ou are encouraged to provide concise descriptions in your application, with a clear rationale for management decisions.
