Storm Dave brings disruptive and potentially damaging winds across Scotland, with the MET office issuing yellow and amber warnings through Saturday into Easter Sunday morning and across the weekend.  Peak gusts of 50-60 mph will be possible fairly widely, with 60-70 mph in more exposed areas. There is a slight chance of even stronger gusts of 80-90 mph in such exposed areas for a time. Please take care. and refer to our guidance on preparing for storms. We recommend woodland managers and owners read the Scottish Windblow Contingency Plan, while guidance is also available on managing storm damaged trees.

Last updated :21 Aug 2025

Topic: Using woodlands

Sub topic: Forest industry

Form to authorise an agent or representative to act on your behalf in dealings with Scottish Forestry for Strategic Timber Transport Scheme applications in 2025–26.

Summary

The Agents Mandate Form is used when a forest owner or applicant wishes to appoint an agent or representative to handle all communications, submissions, and actions with Scottish Forestry relating to an STTS funding application.

The form captures:

  • Applicant details – name, address, and contact information of the person or organisation granting authority.
  • Agent details – name, organisation, and contact information of the appointed representative.
  • Scope of authority – confirmation that the agent can act fully on the applicant’s behalf for the purposes of the STTS application process.
  • Signatures – signed and dated by both the applicant and the agent to formalise the arrangement.

Using this form ensures Scottish Forestry can liaise directly with the appointed agent, streamlining the application process and avoiding delays. It should be completed clearly, in line with the current STTS guidance, and submitted alongside or before the main application form if an agent is acting for the applicant.
